I think the UPS man thought I’d lost my mind when he handed me a package Thursday and I practically ripped it out of his hands. It was my authors copies of Graceful Submission, a 2007 release from Loose Id that is now available in print. In my defense I did apologize to him and he didn’t seem too upset.
This edition contains two stories, Graceful Submission and the short Graceful Mischief, which comes after it and introduces Cedric Dawson, the star of Undercover Submission. I absolutely love Graceful, and when I heard it had made it into print I was thrilled. Holding the copies in my hot little hands made me dizzy, and it took a while for that wonderful feeling to go away.
The title is available on Amazon, for those of you who want a print copy. Graceful Submission is one of the books nominated for a 2008 CAPA award from The Romance Studio. That news absolutely thrilled me, as did the nomination for Amethyst Eyes, and my nominatino as Favorite Erotic Author of 2008. I’m eagerly awaiting the results, which will be announced on Valentine’s Day.
In the meantime, for those of you who are curious, I’m updating my website. I’m really bad about those sorts of things, but I’ve been working on it tonight. Unfortunately the site and I had a disagreement about links on two stories so I’ve stopped for now. Once I get with my webmistress, who is a whiz at these types of things, I’ll get back to work and finish it up tomorrow.
Take care everyone and have a great evening!

Why is it when I drag out the vacuum cleaner my male cat runs for the hills while my female cat jumps on a chair to sit and watch the proceedings? There has to be something there to do with the gender issue. It’s as if he’s saying, “Not me,” before he runs and she’s saying, “I’m glad it’s you and not me,” as she watches.
That’s not something there could be an answer for, of course. It just strikes me as strange that it happens every time I clean house, which probably isn’t often enough.
I signed a new contract with Loose Id, something that always makes me smile. This one is for a m/f BDSM titled Desert Surrender, set mostly in Las Vegas. The main character, Clarissa Alexander, is a wild woman who has provided me with a few hours of entertaining comments with her smart mouth.
Of course she makes me laugh. Her new Dom, Maddox Perry, just shakes his head and comes up with some interesting ways to entertain us all. I don’t have a release date on the story yet but I’ll keep you informed.
I’m also working on another idea for the Tygers series, Sweet Switch, that centers around Ty, Chess and Destiney. When I sub this one I’ll let you know and keep you informed on its progress. If it’s accepted it will probably be the final story in the Tygers series. Of course from there we can go to M’s Playhouse, owned by the sexy TK.
Hope your Sunday is going well. I’m relaxing a bit and eating raspberry muffins with my coffee before tuning out the world for an afternoon of writing. Take care!

It’s hard to believe 2009 is here. I started the year with something grand, an offer from Loose Id to renew the contract on Graceful Submission, one of my all time favorite stories. It’s always fun to get things like that, and truthfully it gets my creative juices flowing, makes me want to create more.
To that end I’ve submitted a new proposal to Loose, for a BDSM tentatively titled Desert Surrender. It has the flavor and feel of Graceful Submission, of a woman discovering herself with the help of a casino owner in Las Vegas. Keep your fingers crossed that it’s accepted. I know I am.
Garnet Strength, the sequel to Amethyst Eyes, comes out Jan. 21st. Just finished edits on it this week and that’s always a great feeling. I also have two other upcoming releases, one from Resplendence Publishing, Smoke, Fire and Desire, the fourth Desires of the Lamp tales. Don’t know exactly when this one will be out. It’s done, though, and came out great, I think. When it’s released I’ll post a notice here.
Cat and Mouse, another story set in the cat shifter world of Cat Got Your Tongue and Nine Lives comes out the first week in February from Changeling. I’ve had a fantastic time creating these stories, which deal with mysteries, which I love to read, and cat shifters. I’m a cat lover, so this was an easy thing for me to see.
This website is new, and this is the first post on the blogger. I’m going to work on the look of it tonight, after I’ve done laundry and all those other household things that get in the way of playing on the computer. I can’t wait to see how it comes out. To that end, let me know what you’d like to see on this blog. That will help me keep you informed.
Finally, had to share something fun. You’ll notice the tagline on this post. I received a T-shirt from a friend for Christmas that said, “Careful, Or You’ll End Up In my Novel.” I love it, and found out that two of my crit/writing friends, Jade Buchanan and Maura Anderson, have the same shirt. Jade received hers this year, and Maura had hers already.
We had a great laugh about it, and all plan on wearing it when we see each other at conferences in the future.
Take care, have a great 2009 and let me know what you want to see from me. Input is always appreciated!
Mel
